So you have all read the news that Connells Point has broken through the 300 member barrier!! Congratulations, After equaling the clubs team record last year with 32 teams, 2012 will officially be the new record for number of teams in the clubs history, the final number is yet to be determined but never before has Connells Point Netball Club had more members than right now!! Thank you to all our players and families for supporting the club so strongly.
Its only fitting then to make the first of our exciting new announcements that were promised earlier in January.
Connells Point Netball Club are proud to have acquired 12 new players to the club. So What??
Well these players are:
Erin Mc Murray
Sophie Holdstock
Alex Clarke
Catherine Holder
Kristy Ivanoff
Brittany Ridlen
Loray Oliviera
Natalie Kelly
Laura Nichols
Candice Fuller
Rebecca James
Belinda Lamb
These 12 super talented netballers will be pulling on the new CP Uniform this season in the SSNA Senior A1 division (subject to ssna grading)
This means that your club will be represented in the elite senior grade at SSNA in 2012 and will have one of the top 8 club teams in the entire Sutherland Shire.
And remember in a previous news article we stated that CP would prove to be the Strongest Club North of Tom Ugly's Bridge in the St George District..... Well this just helps reinforce that point!!!
Not only will these girls be playing at SSNA but the entire team will be representing the Inner Western Suburbs Netball Association in the Netball NSW State League Competition for 2012. This team will be graded among the top 30 teams in New South Wales.
Not only is this a fantastic achievement for Connells Point, but also a great opportunity for our young girls who aspire to one day play at representative level, to get up close and personal and learn first hand from the experience that these girls have. There will be opportunities to travel to Auburn and watch the team play in the State League, and there will be the chance every Saturday afternoon in 2012 to watch the team in our colours at SSNA.
This team is entirely made up of Connells Point personnel, not only the players but also Head Coach: Julian Finch (club president) and Assistant Coach: Phillip Keene (club coach) Apprentice Coach: Leanne Ballard (CP Player development officer)
We hope you are as excited about this achievement as we are, and we also hope you will all be able to take advantage of the spectacle and opportunites that having these players and officials in our club will offer.

This year we have been advised by SSNA that we must put our modified teams into age groups, what this means is there will be no block teams excepted this year. There will be two grading days (or get together days) for the modifieds and nursery players.
The will be on Wednesday 8th and Wednesday 15th of February, at Poulton Park, between 4pm and 6pm.
The players should come ready to play, and bring a drink and if hot wear a hat, if it is raining check the web site 15 mins before for cancellation

After the success of last year and holding grading indoor we have decided to do it again this year. We have been unable to secure the Stadium at SSNA but have been able to book the courts at The Baptist Church CARINGBAH. The address is 74-76 Capt Cook Drive Caringbah, the entrance is right next door to the Speedway Service Station and there is plenty of parking at the back of the complex. There are two indoor grading days this year and ALL players are expected to attend. The second grading day will also be uniform day. Players are to arrive at the times speciifed and will be given a warm up in the car park before they start to play.
Modified and Nursery players will have their own special day more to come on that.

Happy New Year to all our members, supporters and website visitors!
2011 was a great year for the Connells Point Netball Club, but i'm excited to say, 2012 is going to be even BETTER!!!
Its a bold statement to make in the first few days of January, but the club executive have been working towards a few goals over the "off season" and in the next few weeks we will have regular updates of how our club is going to be able to take this season to a new level!!
We would like to encourage all our visitors who are registered on facebook to go to the Connells Point Page and "like" it. we will be able to load photos and get instant messages to people through the facebook network.
One apology we need to make is that we have been unable to deliver the website update (yet) this has been due to a technologically challenged president (Julian) and a few restraints that were not investigated when we began the design. Thankfully though our web site host and former club member Con has been contacted and in due course we will be able to freshen the look and functionality of the Connells Point web page.
One delivery that has been made is the sign off for the new uniform design. As most of you will know, you all had the chance to vote for your favorite design when registering in our pre christmas period, we have tallied the votes and we have importantly also listened to your feedback and come to a final design. We sincerely hope everyone is delighted with our new look and i can guarantee that we wont be getting confused with any other club at SSNA any more...
More great news is that during our recent pre christmas registration, we have managed to not only retain approximately 97% of our 2011 members, but we have also managed to attract some new players which sees our numbers already up on last year!! I'm fairly sure this is unheard of in recent times, particularly with so many more competitors like soccer and dancing, but this result is a testament to all the families in our club being wonderful participants and supporters of the club and each other, as an executive we are proud to have you all with us in 2012. (useless statistic #1 CPNC has more members than there are students at Mater Dei Primary School)
You may have also seen on the home page, another fairly bold statement regarding the fact that Connells Point Netball Club is the only club north of Tom Ugly's Bridge to be playing in the largest and strongest competition in the world. Let me assure you that this is no exaggeration. SSNA is the largest Netball Association in the world, that is a fact. SSNA arguably has the strongest domestic netball competition in the world, this is due to 1. its size 2. Its quality 3. the production line of elite netballers to have come from SSNA over its 51 years.
Your club, with your support (for those who were here) in 2007 made the biggest decision in its history to move from St George Netball Association to Sutherland Shire Netball Association. In 2007 we had 13 teams, 1 team in the 12AR division, and every other team in the club in B grade or C Grade (even D grade in seniors)
In 2012 we will have in excess of 32 teams (nearly triple the size) and subject to grading at SSNA we hope to have an A Grade team in every age group that we compete! We will still have teams in B and C and D grades, because that is the right thing to do, ensuring all our members get to play competitively according to their own development. But please take pride in the fact that your club has risen to the challenge of playing in the strongest netball competition in the WORLD. Use the statistics above to also know that we are absolutely the strongest netball club in the St George District, and that we will continue to invest resources into our players, Umpires and Coaches at ALL LEVELS to ensure we maintain the momentum.
If anyone has any doubt about returning, or is considering which club to play for....The comments above should help you make your decision! Connells Point Netball Club will bring the best out of you, so make sure you choose us!
As a teaser to keep checking back, we will have an announcement regarding a new team at Connells Point in 2012 in the next few weeks, that should excite our entire club and prove that we are 100% committed to providing a pathway for our players to be their best and be THE best!
Here's to 2012

Thanks to everyone for coming to the uniform fitting days, we have nearly registered everyone back from last year and have had several new registrations for next year.
For those that didn't like the change we are sorry, for those that are embracing it we thank you, and look forward to seeing everyone in our new uniform for next year.....as soon as we can get the new web site up and running we will have photos on it of the one that has been chosen .

We must thank the NAB for their continuing sponsorship of the Netball Club, without them we would not have been able to offer such great discounts on the uniforms. It is our goal to be able to offer very very discounted registration in years to come.
If you are thinking about buying a new home, an investment property, or just refinancing please see Julian, the NAB has a special deal on for all Connells Point Netball players families and their friends. As well as receiving a great rate from the NAB the Netball Club will give you back a substantial amount of the commission that they are paid.
Just send me an email and I will pass your information on the NAB and Luke or Julian will be in touch with you
